About Us

Quality and Safety

The Spaulding Rehabilitation Network is committed to delivering compassionate care across the healthcare continuum to improve quality of life for persons recovering from, or learning to live fully with, illness, injury and disability.

You will find the care you need within the Spaulding Rehabilitation Network (SRN).  Our rehabilitation specialists have the training, experience, resources and dedication to help you:

  • Regain function after a devastating illness or injury
  • Develop skills to be active and independent when living with chronic illness and/or disability
  • Recover from surgery, work and sports injuries
  • Grow to your fullest physical, emotional, cognitive and social potential.

The skill of our clinicians is matched only by their dedication to their patients. Whatever your goals—whether it’s recovery from a serious injury or illness, or working toward greater independence—our caregivers support you and your loved ones throughout your rehabilitation.

We continually evaluate the care we provide, to make sure that we are providing quality care and are helping you achieve outcomes that are important to you.

Patient Experience:  Satisfaction with your Spaulding experience is a priority for us. The overall satisfaction of our patients and their willingness to recommend Spaulding to friends or relatives are important measures of the quality of our programs and services.  Each Spaulding facility and outpatient site seeks patient feedback, to continually improve our service to you.

Patient Outcomes: Outcomes are measured in several ways.  Rehabilitation hospitals use the Functional Independence Measure (FIM) instrument, which allows clinicians to follow changes in your functional status  -- such as bathing, dressing, feeding, walking and mobility -- from the start of rehabilitative care through discharge and follow-up.  We also look at what outpatients tell us about their progress over time and after they go home. Important outcomes for patient in a long-term acute care hospital such as Spaulding Cambridge include ventilator weaning and freedom from infection.

Patient Progress:  In the longer term, it’s important that patients find their strength, regain function and resume their lives.  We help you with a safe discharge to home or the community.  We help you to maintain the gains you have made, and to avoid re-hospitalization.
